About the name
Name. 'Misty Bubbles', meaning 'misty bubbles', for its 'dusty metallic' lilac-violet colour, which resembles mist or soap bubbles in the sun. Part of the De Ruiter Bubbles® series, about 40 spray roses with a 'bubble' concept (Lavender Bubbles, Pink Bubbles, White Bubbles, Hot Bubbles, etc.), each in its own colour niche.
Breeding. Bred at De Ruiter Innovations (the Netherlands). The exact year has not been published publicly (the RUICI coding system has been in use since 2007, probably around ~2012–2015). Code RUICI0731A. Parentage not published (typical practice of De Ruiter / Dümmen Orange). De Ruiter is now part of Dümmen Orange, a union of Dutch breeding houses. CORRECTION: it is often wrongly credited to Interplant; it is De Ruiter.
Significance. The 2nd De Ruiter work in the catalogue (next to Luxor RUIY5991, 2006). The 9th florist cut rose in the catalogue, next to Fire Flash, High Magic, Kerio, Lydia, Limbo, Luxor, Macarena and Menta. The first 'pure spray' cut rose in the catalogue; the other cut roses are mostly long-stemmed HTs with one flower per stem. The Bubbles® series is De Ruiter's flagship line for XXI century wedding floristry, well known to florists worldwide. It has no major official awards (AARS/ADR/AGM). It is a commercial florist format, not an 'award' format.
