How to grow

Where to plant. Arches, trellises, fences, walls; the rare lavender colour is a refined, 'smoky' accent in vertical planting.

Climate. Hardy to about zone 6 (down to about −23 °C); up to zone 5 with reliable winter protection.

Care. Good disease resistance; shoots are tied in and bent for abundant flowering. The colour holds best in light partial shade.

About the name

Name. 'Quicksilver' — 'mercury' in English; a nod to the silvery-mauve shimmer of the petals. Also written 'Quick Silver'.

Breeding. Tim Herman Kordes (W. Kordes' Söhne, Germany), code KORpucoblu; bred in 2004, on sale around 2017. Part of the Arborose® climber series. This is a climber, not a Floribunda. The lavender Floribunda from Kordes is called something else — Lavender Veranda.
