About the name
Name. 🇩🇪 'Landlust' — after the popular German magazine 'LandLust' (founded 2005, published by Landwirtschaftsverlag Münster) — 'love of the countryside / rural land'. The magazine promotes rural life, gardening, handicrafts and cooking — Germany's equivalent of 'Country Living'. The first variety in the catalogue dedicated to a magazine — a rare pattern.
Breeding. Bred by Tim-Hermann Kordes at W. Kordes' Söhne (Sparrieshoop, Germany), bred in 2002, market release in 2015 — a rare 13-year gap between breeding and introduction (for comparison, Kordes' average gap is 5–10 years). Correct code KORtuberlou (NOT KORtemma — that is a different Kordes variety!). Internal code KO 02/1450-11. US Plant Patent PP 29,698. Parentage: Golden Fairy Tale (Goldelse) × unknown seedling.
Significance. Hradec Králové (Czechia) + Baden-Baden (Germany) + Golden Rose Kortrijk (Belgium). It did not receive an ADR — despite the healthy roots, black spot held it back. The 6th Tim-Hermann Kordes variety in our catalogue — alongside Florentina (2011), Kordes Jubilee (2012), Larissa (1998/2008), Laguna (1994/2004). CORRECTIONS: class Shrub (NOT Floribunda); colour bicolour apricot-yellow-pink (NOT pure yellow); year 2015 (NOT 2008). Do not confuse with Landora (Tantau 1970, another yellow HT from our catalogue).
