How to grow

Where to plant. In the front or middle of a mixed border, singly or in small groups — this graceful, spreading shrub holds its shape well without support.

Climate. Hardy to −15 °C (USDA 6b–9b); in Ukraine it needs winter protection.

Care. Plant in full sun, where the warm pink tone with its coral undertone shows best; because of its very repeat-flowering habit (May–November), it needs regular feeding throughout the season.

About the name

Name. The rose is named after the French fashion designer Sonia Rykiel.

Breeding. Dominique Massad, House of Guillot (France), 1995, code MASdogui, Générosa® collection; parentage [Yellow Cushion × Aloha] × Graham Thomas.

Significance. A romantic, fragrant rose with quartered rosettes. It is often mistakenly credited to the House of Delbard — in fact it was created by the House of Guillot as part of the Générosa collection.
